Going nowhere fast.

Won’t bore you with the details of the boarding of the flight from LAX to Shanghai, electrical failure of the plane, unboarding (is that a word?) and subsequent cancellation of said flight, rebooking of new flight with 9 hours to kill before the new flight takeoff, getting my checked backpack released from the cancelled flight and chasing it down; finally, arrival in China and trying to get to my connecting flight to Vietnam by going through customs not once, not twice, but 3 separate times and arriving at the gate with 15 minutes to spare and finding out I had been deleted from that flight by Delta. Rebooked with Vietnam Air to HCMC and waiting (it’s what I do these days!) to see if the scrap paper with a random ticket number given me by the Southern China agent will morph into an actual boarding pass.

Anywayyy. I’m sure it’s all meant to teach me patience.

Tried to find some humor in this all – here are some pix from the Shanghai Airport.

Nap pod. Coulda used one in LA!

Could this possibly be a ticket to Vietnam?

I guess that scrap of paper worked!

    1. Surprisingly. Or I guess based on the rest of the story, not so surprisingly!
